Given the potential variables, prices for sound, lighting and staging are quoted on an event by event basis. Obviously larger rigs require larger crews and attract higher transportation and set-up costs.
Live Sound
To get a rough estimate of the cost for a live sound rig, divide your kW requirement by 10, add £500 for desk, outboard, etc. and also add £50 per individual foldback mix (from main FOH desk). For example a 5kW rig with 4 individual foldback mixes would be £500 + £500 for outboard, etc. + £200 for foldback (4 x £50). There are additional charges for running a separate foldback desk and outboard. This is the base daily figure. Additional days beyond the first are charged at 30% of the base daily figure - £360 for each additional day in the example above.
Obviously all prices include all cables, leads, mics, mic stands, power distribution, etc. plus crew costs, transport and set-up/breakdown. The formula above does tend to overestimate but provides a base figure for the budgeting purposes.
Lighting Rigs
Sorry, we are unable to give you a basic formula for calculating rough lighting costs. All lighting is quoted on a job by job basis and can vary dramatically based on the overall visual impression you are trying to create. In simple terms, a DMX controlled lighting rig starts at £500/day, with additional charges of 30% per extra day.
Staging
Stage sections are generally £25/section normally as a one-off event charge. Please note that staging hired on its own will incur additional transport costs.
Payment Terms
A deposit of 30% of the total estimated cost is required to confirm a booking. The balance is due in cleared funds no later than 14 days prior to the start of the event. Alternative payment schedules are available to our established clients. |
